Ram Lal Thakur resigns on moral grounds

Hamirpur, Jun 5 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Forest Minister Ram Lal Thakur today resigned from the Cabinet following his defeat in the Hamirpur parliamentary by-polls, sources said.

Mr Thakur put in his papers on moral grounds, the sources told UNI here.

Mr Thakur was a Congress candidate in the elections and lost to BJP candidate and former chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal by a margin of 80,059 votes in a multi-cornered contest.
