No discrimination under MPLADF: Rebia

Itanagar, Jun 5 (UNI) Rajya Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh Nabum Rebia today said not a single district in the state was sidelined while implementing schemes under the MP Local Area Development Fund (MPLADF).

Mr Rebia's statement came in the backdrop of allegations that the projects under MPLADF was implemented mainly in Papum Pare district thereby neglecting others.

Addressing a press conference here, the Congress MP clarified that more importance had been given to Papum Pare as it was the nodal district in the state and the hub of all developmental activities, besides the state capital.

He assured that other districts were also equally looked after as per the recommendations of the elected representatives.

''As per the guidelines for utilisation of MPLADF, only one district could be selected. Keeping in view the backwardness, I have selected the entire state as a single unit for which I should be appreciated,'' he claimed.

Mr Rebia reiterated that those who were levelling allegations against him should try to understand the guidelines and ascertain the information from the respective deputy commissioners before tarnishing his image.

He also claimed that no such allegations had been levelled by the elected representatives of the particular districts.

Stating that he had not received any recommendations from the representative of Upper Siang district for implementation of schemes under MPLADF, Mr Rebia said he had sanctioned many schemes in Anjaw and Kurung Kumey districts and so there was no question of neglect.

''I am not concerned on which scheme the funds under MPLADF should be utilised. It is the prerogative of the respective DC and MLAs,'' he said and claimed that his contribution was much more in comparison to other MPs.
