Monsoon weak over Karnataka
Bangalore, Jun 5 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.
Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Interior Karnataka and mainly dry weather prevailed over Coastal Karnataka.
Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Bidar 4; K.R.Sagara, Mandya 3 each; Lokapur, Nagathan, Bhalki, Kamalapur 2 each; Kaladgi, Jamakhandi, Hessarghatta 1 each.
Maximum temperatures changed little over Interior Karnataka.
They were appreciably above normal at many places being markedly so at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and above normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Gulbarga recorded highest maximum temperature of 39.6 degree Celsius over the State.
Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada districts and at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
Fishermen Warning for Karnataka Coast: Strong onshore winds from Westerly to Northwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.
Outlook for subsequent two days: Increase in rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and no significant is expected over Interior Karnataka.
Forecast for Bangalore city: Partly cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely. Maximum temperature would be around 33 degree Celsius.
