Maoists kill two CRPF men,torch police picket

Dehri on Sone,Jun 5(UNI)-In a sudden spurt in attacks targeting security personnel, the proscribed CPI(Maoist) killed two CRPF jawans and torched a police picket and an inspection bungalow in separate incidents since last night.

The CRPF jawans killed in the explosion that took place near Koriyarighat under Rohtas police station belonged to the 139 battalion. They were identified as Karamveer Singh of Uttarakhand and Diwan Singh of Uttar Pradesh.

A large number of extremists swooped down late last night on an abandoned house in Garhi village under Khaira police station of Jamui district. The house was previously used as a police picket and also an inspection bungalow of the state irrigation department. The rebels set both the houses ablaze.

The ultras took the chowkidar of the bungalow captive before launching the attack, district police superintendent A K Ambedkar said.
