Leopard kills six-year-old boy

Jammu, June 5 (UNI) A six-year-old boy today died after he was fatally wounded by a leopard that attacked him at Nai Dangri village in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, sources said.

The boy, Sahil Kumar, was on his way to home last evening along with his father Krishan Lal when the cat attacked and dragged him to the nearby forests. His father raised an alarm and ran after the leopard to rescue his child.

Meanwhile, the villagers also rushed to the spot for help.

After daring efforts by his father, the boy was profusely bleeding was rescued.

He was immediately shifted to the government district hospital, Doda, but succumbed to injuries this morning.

The incidents of wild animals attacking cattle and people in the area have reportedly gone up during the past few months.
