HP Cabinet sanctions 3,163 government posts

Shimla, Jun 5 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today sanctioned the creation and filling up of 3,163 posts of different categories in various departments of the state, official sources said.

The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here, decided to create 3,163 posts, including 548 posts in Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) at Shimla with a provision of 441 more posts in the next four to five years to strengthen health network in the state hospital.

The sources said of the 3,163 posts created and sanctioned, 2,096 posts were those in teaching and non-teaching categories in the newly upgraded 16 senior secondary, 71 high and 106 middle schools of the state.

It also created and sanctioned two posts of additional advocate general, one post of deputy advocate general, one post of joint secretary, two posts of deputy secretaries and six posts of section officers in the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat.

Besides, it also approved four posts of different categories in HP Public Service Commission, one post of assistant professor in Radiology in IGMC, one post of Faculty in Right to Information and 548 posts of different categories in the IGMC, the sources said.

The sources said two posts of naib tehsildars, one post of deputy director in the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, and 48 posts of different categories in the Chamba Millennium Polytechnic were also sanctioned in the meeting.
