Gujjars burn Vasundhara Raje's effigy in Punjab
Jalandhar, Jun 4: The members of Gujjar community today burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in support of ST status for their brethren in Rajasthan.
The members of Gujjar Sabha, Hoshiarpur and Gujjar Kalyan Samiti, Jalandhar burnt the effigy of Rajasthan Chief Minister at the BMC Chowk here and submitted a memorandum of demands to the SDM Bhupinder Singh, addressed to the Prime Minister and President.
The community members urged the Punjab government to include them into scheduled caste list in the state.
They also demanded the implemention of President rule in Rajasthan at the earliest possible, a compensation of Rs 20 to 25 lakh each to the next of kin of those killed in the clashes and police firing during the agitation and job to one member from deceased family.
