Five arrested in kidnapping case

Itanagar, June 05 (UNI) Even as five people were arrested in the abduction of Bapinglu Hrisikro and her child from Wakro in Lohit district on May 28, Arunachal Pradesh Governor S K Singh today expressed concern over the whole episode.

Police had rounded up 16 persons at Hayuliang on June two and brought them to Namsai yesterday.

After interrogation, five of them were arrested and forwarded to the local court, Lohit superintendent of police C P Mansai said.

Meanwhile, Mr Singh requested the State Commission for Women to work hard to ensure security and well being of children and mothers.

Meanwhile, All Mishmi Women's Welfare Society and Panggung Area Welfare Society have demanded safe rescue of the duo and immediate arrest of the abductors.
