Bypoll result will not affect coalition govt: Kumaraswamy
M M Hills, Jun 5 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today asserted that the bypoll result of Ullal Assembly against the coalition partners JD(S) and BJP would not have any impact on the stability of the government.
Reacting to the victory of Congress candidate U T Khader, Mr Kumaraswamy said the Congress, managing to retain the seat should not be construed as an 'anti-incumbency' factor.
''The coalition government will complete its tenure and the bypoll result will not have any impact on its stability,'' he added.
By fielding U T Khader, son of the deceased sitting member, the Congress rode to victory on the wave of sympathy votes. 'One should not attach any significance to the bypoll verdict,' Mr Kumaraswamy added.
