Bomb hoax creates panic

Guwahati, Jun 5 (UNI) An unclaimed box at the Athgaon area here created panic among the residents and traders this morning.

Police said the box was spotted by locals near a pillar of the Athgaon overbridge.

Police officials rushed to the spot and the entire area was cordoned off.

However, a TV remote was found from the box, even as panic gripped the nearby residents.

The Athgaon area of the city has been an oft-targeted place by ULFA.

The outfit had exploded at least 16 bombs in and around the business hub in the last five months.
