BJP rejects Mayawati's allegations on Taj Corridor Case

New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) The BJP today dismissed as "baseless and unfounded" the allegations levelled by UP Chief Minister Mayawati that the party was behind opening of the Taj Heritage Corridor case against her.

Addressing newspersons, BJP General Secretary Anant Kumar said Ms Mayawati should remember that it was not the BJP but the Supreme Court which had taken cognisance of a Public Interest Litigation on the Taj Heritage Corridor Scam and issued a direction to the CBI to investigate the case.

"She should not forget history and resist from making baseless allegations against the BJP," Mr Kumar said.

UP Governor T V Rajeshwar had denied permission to the CBI to prosecute the Chief Minister following which the CBI today dropped proceedings against Ms Mayawati.
