Youth dies of suspected food poisoning

Tiruchirapalli, June 4 (UNI) A 23-year-old youth, hailing from Orissa, died of suspected food poisoning early today, while nine others were admittted to a private nursing home, here.

State special branch police sources said, a group of employees hailing from Orissa, were working in a private steel and alloy industry at Manikandam village near here. As many as 10 workers took ill after eating chappathi and sabji on Saturday last. All of them were treated as out-patients after checkup.

The employees once again took ill after eating chappathi and sabji yesterday. Soon they develped symptoms of nausea and vomitting and fainted.

They were rushed to a private nursing home in the city, where one Thippa Shetty hailing from Narasingpur in Cuttack district of Orissa succumbed early today.
