Aizawl, June 4 (UNI) A wounded wild boar killed a man at a paddy field in Khawzawl near Indo-Myanmar border.

A seriously wounded Chunglianthang, a Myanmarese, was recovered by a riverside near the paddy field on Saturday afternoon sources said yesterday. He succumbed to injuries shortly after the attack.

Before his death, he had told that he was attacked by a wild boar.

People thought he had been attacked by the wild boar while he was ploughing the field, which, however, was later ruled out by investigation of the scene by local ''shikaris''.

According to their investigation, the wild boar had been apparently wounded on the leg on which advantage the man went to attack it. They came to this theory after seeing the animal's footprints.

Since there were no footprints where the man was ploughing field, the hunters came to the conclusion that the man went for the animal, thinking that he would be able to kill it with stones.

They also recovered stones that he might have used for throwing at the animal since it had been wounded its leg. The hunters said that the real fight took place about 20 m from his ploughs, a source from Khawzawl told UNI over telephone.
