Two-year-old drowned in bath tub

Chennai, June 4 (UNI) A two-year-old boy drowned after he fell into a bath tub at his house in Teynampet in the city today.

Police said the boy was identified as Sayeed Umar, son of Sayeed Mohammad and Sameena Banu.

After Mr Mohammad left for Delhi this morning, his wife Banu and her three-year-old daughter Kuldhum went to sleep. Meanwhile, Umar, woke up and went inside the bathroom to play in the water, when he fell inside the tub and drowned.

Banu, who woke up, found his son missing from the room.

After searching for him for a while, she peeped into the bathroom and was shocked to see her son lying in the tub.

He was taken to the Government Royapettah hospital where he was declared brought dead.
