Tributes paid to CPI leader Saraswathi Subbiah

Puducherry, June 4 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to Mrs Saraswathi Subbiah, freedom fighter and wife of veteran CPI leader and former minister V Subbiah, on her second death anniversary here today.

CPI National Council Member R Viswanathan MLA, State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan MLA and party functionaries placed flower petals on a decorated portrait of Mrs Saraswathi.

A Self-Help Group named after her distributed free rice to the poor and organised feeding of the poor programme to mark the occasion.
