Transfer orders by end of this month: Minister

Hyderabad, Jun 4 (UNI) Convenor of the Committee, constituted for the implementation of the GO 610, D Srinivas today said transfer orders would be issued to all employees of other regions working in Telangana by the end of this month.

The GO 610 provides for repatriation of employees of other regions working in Telangana to their respective areas so that the locals get employment opportunities.

Talking to mediapersons at the Secretariat here, Mr Srinivas, who is also the Higher Education Minister, said there need not be any apprehensions about the implementation of the GO.

He said the government was very sincere about implementing the GO which was issued in 1985 following a Presidential Order.

He said the TDP, which had not done anything so far to implement the GO, though in power for 14 years, was now posing as if it was the champion of the cause of the Telangana region and was criticising the Congress government, which in a short term of three years had completed the herculean task of identifying non-Telangana employees in almost all the departments.

When asked how the government proposed to fill up the gaps created by the transfer of Andhra employees from Telangana, if enough Telangana employees were not available in the Andhra region, the Minister said, ''We have made a beginning. Let us see how things shape out. We will find solutions once problems arise.'' On the resignation of Andhra area MLAs from the House committee constituted by Speaker K R Suresh Reddy on the implementation of the 610 GO, the Minister maintained that though their action was hasty, every one has a right to express his opinion in a democracy, and they should not be criticised.
