Three undertrials escape from jail

Surat, June 4 (UNI) Three undertrials today escaped from the Mangrol sub jail in Surat district after breaking the corridor grills.

The incident occurred at around 0630 hrs. The three convicts -- Avadesh Idrika Garg (30) of Anthara in Uttar Pradesh, Paramjit Kuldipsingh Jat (20) of Ludhiana in Punjab and Mahesh Bhadriprasad Yadav, a native of Kanpur in UP-- climbed the sidewall of the corridor, broke open the grill and escaped. The trio were on their way for daily work, sources said.

All the three were arrested in November last year in connection with a robbery case and possession of arms.

All district police headquarters have been informed about the jail-break and investigations are underway, sources added.
