Silver up, Gold steady
Mumbai, June 4: Silver moved up by Rs ten per kg and Gold remained steady on moderate demand on the Bombay Bullion Association today.
Silver fineness .999 opened low at Rs 18,790 on poor demand.
Later, it rose smarly and closed at Rs 18,855 with a gain of Rs 10 from Saturday's close of Rs 18,845.
In London, Silver rose to USD 13.74/13.78 per troy ounce against USD 13.68/13.71 per troy ounce in New York.
Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) also opened weak at Rs 8,815 and Rs 8,865 per ten gm respectively on better buying support.
Later, the yellow metal moved upwards and closed at Rs 8,840 and Rs 8,890 per ten gm respectively from its previous close on moderate demand.
In London, Gold also remained flat at USD 669.00/672.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 669.00/672.00 per troy ounce in New York on Friday.
Following are the spot silver and gold closing prices: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 18,855 (18,845), Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 8,840 (8,840) Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 8,890 (8,890).
