Senior TDP leader M Ranga Rao arrested
Eluru, June 4 (UNI) Former Minister and senior TDP leader M Ranga Rao was today arrested by Bhimadole police on charges of obstructing duty officer of Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation (transco) at Bhimadolu on April 13.
Police said the TDP activists had agitated against the power cut and demanded uninterrupted power supply during April. The party led by its district President and former Minister K Subbarajyudu besieged Bhimadole sub-station on April 13.
On this occasion Mr Ranga Rao and TDP leader M Gangadhar Rao obstrcuted the duties of transco additional divisional engineer and staff while they were on duty.
Based on the complaint the police arrested Gangadhara Rao on April 13 and released on bail. The first accused Mr Ranga Rao today surrendered before the Bhimadole police.
Later, they brought him to Eluru and produced before the second additionnal judicial first class magistrate K Hanumantha Rao.
