Robbers assault another police constable in Mumbai
Mumbai, Jun 4 (UNI) A police constable, attached to the Antop Hill police station here, was flung today from the third floor of a housing society in south central Mumbai when he tried to foil a robbery attempt.
Police constable Sunder Waghmare, and his patrol team, rushed to the third floor of the building when they found a gang of robbers trying to break into a flat there at around 0330 hrs.
The robbers attacked the police personnel and one of them pushed Waghmare from the third floor.
Waghmare sustained multiple fractures and was rushed to Lokmanya Tilak hospital but was later shifted to Wockhardt hospital at Mulund in north east Mumbai.
Earlier on Sunday, any police constable was assaulted by robbers at Malad in western suburbs.
