Review meeting held on 'Indira Kranthi Patham'
Tirupati, June 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Rural Development Minister G Chenna Reddy today conducted a review meeting comprising four Rayalaseema districts and Nellore, on the 'Indira Kranthi Patham' by Andhra Pradesh government, to eradicate poverty and improve the economic status of rural poor.
Dr Reddy, speaking to all district project directors and employees here, he said the government would give prominence to the poor like farmers in the state. The government introduced 'Indira Kranthi Patham' recently for rural development work, loan at 25 paise interest rate, Indiramma Gruha Pathakam (Housing Loan), bank linkage and Indramma Lake Scheme to create employment to poor.
Chittoor district had the maximum number of poor people (78 per cent) followed by Kadapa (77 per cent), Ananthapur (75 per cent), Kurnool (77 per cent) and Nellore (78 per cent).
The officials should educate them on the various schemes and facilities available, to improve their financial status, he added.
