RComm launches coloured phones with FM at Rs 1888

New Delhi, June 4: Expanding its range of entry-level handsets, Reliance Communications (RComm) today introduced coloured CDMA mobile phones with FM radio priced at Rs 1,888 onwards.

RComm launched two handsets under its brand 'Classic', which has a range of 16 low-cost mobile phones including three black and white handsets.

While Classic 261 is priced at Rs 1,888, the 761 model will be available at Rs 1,919, RComm President (Personal Business) S P Shukla told reporters here in a video conference from Mumbai.

''We believe that this would provide customers looking at second-hand phones an opportunity to buy a new handset. The lowering of handset prices would also increase the telephony penetration in the country.'' RComm launched its first Classic phone at Rs 777 last month, and sold one million handsets in a week.

Classic phones are SIM- enabled, allowing consumers to move from one CDMA service to another, a flexibility hitherto available only on GSM handsets.
