Nagpur, June 4 (UNI) Train traffic between Mumbai and Howrah, disrupted after yesterday's derailment of a goods train near Bhusawal, was restored along the normal route today.

Traffic on the up line (towards Mumbai) was restored early this morning, while that on the down line (towards Howrah) was restored this afternoon, according to a Central Railway (CR) press release here.

Several trains had to run via Bhusawal-Khandwa-Itarsi as the derailment had damaged both the up and down tracks near Bodwad, about 30 kilometres from Bhusawal. Consequently, 2139 Dadar-Nagpur Sewagram Express reached Nagpur today 4 hours behind schedule and 2105 Mumbai-Nagpur Vidarbha Express 4 hours and 30 minutes late, while 2145 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Bhubaneshwar Express was running 6 hours behind schedule, 2129 Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express 5 hours behind schedule, and 2809 Mumbai-Howrah Mail 6 hours behind schedule, the press release said. The 2106 Nagpur-Mumbai Vidarbha Express left Nagpur 3 hours late, it said.

Some trains passing through Nagpur have been affected by the Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan, the release also said.

These include 2968/2967 Jaipur-Chennai-Jaipur Express, which is running along diverted route via Jaipur, Ajmer, Ahmedabad, Surat, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Wardha and Ballarshah, and, consequently, is not passing through Nagpur, the release added.
