Meera, wife of deceased Rajkumar, was arrested by the police during its 'verification drive' to check for missing persons soon after the incident, police today said adding that the arrest of her paramour Kanwar Singh followed her interrogation and admission to her involvement in the crime.

The arrest of Kanwar also led to the recovery of the amputated limbs of the deceased and the weapon used to chop them off.

The deceased was later recognised by the Raj Kumar's sister after she was shown the torso recovered from Shakur Basti in Punjabi Bagh in a bag.

Interrogations revealed that Rajkumar had a strained realtionship with his wife and would often beat her because of which she developed 'relations' with her neighbour Kanwar.

Both meers and Kanwar planned to eliminate Rajkumar and on May 30 strangled him when he was asleep. Later, Kanwar chopped off his limbs to evade identification.

Kanwar congessed that he got the idea of chopping off the body parts from news reports of serial killer Chandrakant Jha who threw three headless bodies near high security Tihar Jail within a span of seven months.
