Patiala enter final of Punjab inter district cricket

Patiala, June 4 (UNI) Patiala snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Amritsar to enter the final of the Punjab Inter-district Cricket (Under-19) for Dhruve Pandove Trophy at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium here today.

Overnight two for no loss, Patiala resumed their innings on a confident note. Jeevanjot Singh played a stellar role, neatly compiling a well-deserved century. His 101 in 221 balls, contained 15 glorious fours.

Preetkamal also scored a brilliant half century (53) in 168 balls, which comprised 6 fours. Karan Kumar (17) and Amarpreet Bains (18) also contributed humbly to the Patiala total of 234 for 9 in 92.5 overs.

But it was Rajwinder Singh and Bhavish Goyal who helped Patiala win the match after their team was struggling at 222 for 9 at one stage. Amritsar were all out for 230 in 92.4 overs yesterday.

For Amritsar, Balbir bowled well to capture 4 wickets, conceding 67 runs, while Lakshya Seth supported him well to bag 3 for 53.

Patiala will now meet Chandigarh in the final to be played in Mohali on June 6,7,8.
