No hope of rain for next few days: Met office
Kolkata, Jun 4 (UNI) With two people already dead from heat wave, there is more bad news for the city-dwellers, as Met office predicted the present weather conditions will prevail over the next few days.
Met sources said the main culprit was the high humidity level of 84 per cent with the maximum temperature being recorded at 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 29.1 degrees Celsius.
Heat wave-like conditions across Bihar and Jharkhand was causing a rise in moisture level over the Bay of Bengal but was not strong enough to give rise to thunder storms, Alipore Met office officials said.
There was no forecast of any rain and the monsoons were not scheduled to arrive before June eight.
The maximum temperature forecast for tomorrow is around 36 degrees Celsius, Met sources added.
