NDMC files status report on its demolition drive
New Delhi, June 4 (UNI) Pursuant with the High Court's order to carry out demolitions in the capital, the New Delhi Municipal Council(NDMC) has filed the Action Taken Report (ATR) in its recent demolition drive in Connaught Place.
The NDMC, which is carrying out the demolitions, is coming down heavily against encroachers situated in and around the parking areas, especially in the basements of the heart of the city.
Court Comissioner Pushkar Sood will tomorrow inspect the sites which were claimed to be demolished by the NDMC.
The Status report filed by the NDMC in the court states that for Inder Prakash building situated in Connaught Place, notices were issued to occupants of ten unauthorised structures situated in the parking area. Nine structures out of 10 are said to have been demolished while the remaining would be demolished soon. Regarding the Vandana Building, the NDMC claims notices were issued to four illegal occupants in the parking area out of which two have been demolished and the remaining two are pending as the officials want to clear doubts whether they come in the vicinity of the parking area.
As for Tolstoy House, none out of the eight unauthorised constructions in the parking lot have so far been removed by tbe NDMC.
Eight unauthorised occupants of the Surya Kiran Building, two unauthorised occupants of the Prakash Deep Building, seven unauthorised occupants of Rohit House, seven of Ansal Bhawan nine of Harsh Bhawan, 31 of Arunachal bhawan and two occupants of Akash Deep building in its parking area have not yet been removed.
However, all eight unauthorised occupants of the Vijaya building and one out of the two unauthorised occupants of the DCM building have been removed, the authorities claim.
