Man trampled to death by wild elephant

Madikeri, Karnataka, June 4: A 58-year-old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at a coffee estate near Kudlur Chettalli village in Kodagu district.

Siddapur police said Lingaraju was working in Palanji Estate near the village. While he was working in the estate, the tusker suddenly attacked him and squeezed him to the ground, killing him on the spot, yesterday.

The pachyderm dashed against a water tank resulting in breaking of one of its tusk. It was recovered by the Police.
