Kumnaraswamy to handover reins to BJP as agreed
M M Hills, Karnataka, June 4 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today reiterated that he will handover the power to coalition partner Bharatiya Janata Party as agreed before formation of the government.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that "as per internal agreement between us, I would hand over the power to BJP in October'07." Replying to a question, he said that the State government has submitted a memorandum to the Union government on sharing of water in Mahadai and if necessary will approach again.
About increase in number of farmers committing suicide due to distress, Mr Kumaraswamy said that a meeting of experts and farmers leaders would be convened within 15 days in Bangalore to find a suitable solution to stop farmers suicide. In the meeting G K Veeresh committee report would also be discussed.
The Chief Minister later laid foundation stone to 'Rashtrapathy Bhavan' to be constructed at a cost of Rs four crore.
He also laid foundation stone for supply of permanent water to M M Hills from cauvery river.
