JVM(D) demonstrates to dislodge UPA govt in Jharkhand
Jamshedpur, Jun 4 (UNI) The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) activists today demonstrated in front of the District Commissioner's (DC) office here to dislodge the Madhu Koda-led UPA government.
As part of the party's ''Jharkand Bachao Abhiyan'', led by JVM(D) leader Abhay Singh, the party activists shouted slogans against the ''corruption in the government machineries'' and forced the district administration to lock the main gate of the office.
Meanwhile, the district administration deployed police forces in the district headquarters to prevent any untoward incident, official sources said.
''The state is in turmoil and total anarchy prevails. Even the ministers are admitting that all bureaucrats and ministers indulge in corrupt practices and there is no law and order. The government has failed to control the naxalite menace which claimed the life of JMM MP Sunil Mahto,'' Mr Singh said and demanded immediate dismissal of the government.
The JVM leader also urged President A P J Abdul Kalam to impose President's Rule in the state.
He added that the party would launch a state-wide agitation under the guidance of JVM supremo Babulal Marandi.
