Hyundai Motor May sales up by 3.3 per cent

New Delhi, June 4: Auto major Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said its May sales went up 3.3 per cent at 16,643 units as compared to 16,102 units during the same period last fiscal.

Exports also rose 2.3 per cent at 10,005 units as against 9,781 units in May 2006.

''While the market continues to be slow we have managed to keep our sales steady and even registered an increase over last year as well. We are confident that our sales will continue to grow and keep pace with the industry growth rate,'' company's vice-president (marketing and sales) Arvind Saxena said.

The company sold 23,154 units in A2 segment, 3,241 units in A3 segment, 111 units in A4 segment, 116 units in A5 segment and 26 units in A5 segment during the period.
