HC orders to hear petition against 'Ishu darbar'
Allahabad, June 4 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court will hear in the first week of July, the PIL filed by a journalist against a 'Ishu Darbar', organised in the premises of the Allahabad Agricultural Institute.
A division bench comprising Justices V M Sahai and Vikram Nath today gave this order on a PIL filed by journalist Vinay Mishra.
The petitioner had alleged that 'Ishu Darbar' is converting Hindus to Christianity by giving them job assurances and promising them Rs 10 lakh after conversion.
The PIL seeks mandamus to restrain the activities of the 'Ishu Darbar'.
The petitioner has prayed the court to direct the respondents Union of India, National Human Rights Commission, president, University Grants Commission Chairman, Secretary (Home department) UP, Allahabad Senior Superintendent of Police and others to conduct a proper investigation through an independent investigating agency against the act of the vice chancellor of the Agricultural Institute.
