Hardcore HM militants killed in Doda district

Doda, June 4 (UNI) Two hardcore Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants, including a Tehsil Commander were killed in an encounter with security force at Gandoh in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.

Acting on army intelligence inputs on the most wanted Hizbul militant, its tehsil commander and his associate Mehmood, the troops of 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launched a search operation, which was later joined by the STF of Doda police at Tatle high reaches inandoh police station 1300hrs today.

Both the militants were eliminated by the security forces during the opeartion, the sources said, adding that two LR and two magazines were recovered from their possession.

The operation was still on as security personnel were fired at from the other side of the mountain, the sources said adding some more militants are expected to be in that area.
