Gujarat Cong to launch 'adivasis rally' from tomm

Ahmedabad, June 4 (UNI) State Congress will launch a rally of adivasis in south Gujarat region from tomorrow in Umergaon in Valsad district.

The rally will begin from 1000 hrs, said Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee chief Bharatsinh Solanki in a release here today.

The rally is part of the ''Go to the People'' programme.

Before the start of the rally in the afternoon a public meeting will be held in the morning that would be attended by Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi's advisor Ahmed Patel, GPCC chief Bharatsinh Solanki, leader of the opposition in Gujarat Assembly Arjun Modhwadia, incharge of AICC's Gujarat cell B K Hariprasadji, Union Textile Minister Shankersinh Vaghela, minister of state for home Manik Rao Gavit and MPs Rajiv Shukla, Dr Tushar Chaudhury, Kishan Patel, Mohan Kelkar, Dahyabhai Patel and former home minister of Maharashtra Krupashanker Singh among others.

The Adivasis Janjagran yatra will traverse nine districts -- Valsad, Navsari, Dangs, Surat, Bharuch, Narmada, Vadodara, Panchmahals and Dahod and cover about 44 talukas, the release added.
