Guj: Food poisoning in Gondal; 1000 falls ill

Rajkot, June 4: At least 1,000 people have been admitted to various hospitals in Gondal town of the district with symptoms of food poisoning.

The victims complained of nausea, vomiting and uneasiness after consuming food at a marriage function yesterday, according to official sources here today.

Hospital staff and local administration officials were busy treating the patients, as flow of patients continued to pour in till late night. Nearly 700 affected people are being treated in civil hospital at Gondal.

The patients are responding to the treatment, hospital sources said.
