Funeral procession clash; 10 arrested
Chennai, June 4 (UNI) Four people, including a relative of a deceased, sustained head injuries when a scuffle broke out between two parties during a funeral procession at Vyasarpadi in North Chennai today.
Police said ten people, five from each group, were arrested.
During the funeral procession of Ravishankar, who committed suicide yesterday, one Anbalagan, danced in front of the corpse.
As he was in an inebriated condition he did not heed to a call to stay calm till the body reached the burial ground.
Questioning this, Anbalagan attacked one Karunakaran, a relative of Ravishankar. Thereafter, the situation went out of control when the members of the two groups attacked each other.
The MKB nagar police station has registered a case and arrested ten people.
