Ahmedabad, Jun 4 (UNI) The threat of a cyclonic storm that was looming near the Gujarat coast, has subsided as it now lay 600 km off Dwarka and is moving away from the Indian coast in an north-westerly direction towards Oman.

The cyclonic storm was at a distance of 730 kms west-south-west from Mumbai.

Yesterday, the weather office had warned of fairly widespread rainfall along the west coast during the next 48 hours.

However, the met office said this evening that so far only isolated rains have been recorded in the state.
