Court denies bail to CO in bribery case

Patna, Jun 4 (UNI) A special local court here today turned down the regular bail plea of a Circle Officer (CO)in a bribery case.

After hearing both sides special vigilance judge of Patna S P N Singh refused to grant bail to Sashank Kumar Lal, the incarcerated CO of Sahebpur in Begusarai district.

According to the charges, the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a person for facilitating the possession of a land.

The CO was arrested by vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs. 8,000 in Feburary 2007.
