Builder commits suicide by shooting himself

Mumbai, June 4 (UNI) A 30-year-old builder allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself from his licensed revolver at his residence in suburban Dahisar.

Amit Ramavatar Pathak took out a licensed revolver from cupboard last night at around 2300 hrs and removed cartridges from it in the presence of his wife Pinki alias Nitu (26), daughter Smriti (07) and son Aryan (03). However, one cartridge was obstructed inside the chamber. Thereafter, he put revolver on his head and pulled the trigger twice but nothing happened, police said here today.

The third time, however, when he again pulled the trigger the obstructed bullet was fired, causing head injury. He was rushed to Bhagwati Hospital, where doctor declared him dead before admission, police added.

Police have registered a case of accidential death.
