Bill Gates Foundation delegation meets Haryana Governor

Chandigarh, June 4 (UNI) An eight member delegation from Melinda Bill Gates Foundation called on Haryana Governor A R Kidwai here today to explore possibilities for setting up of real time village based agriculture extension.

The delegation was headed by eminent scholar of Educational Reform of Old Dominion University, USA, Dr Dwight W Allen Dr Kidwai apprised the delegation about the steps being taken by the state government for increasing productivity in agriculture sector and to promote research activities in agriculture in the State.

The Vice Chancellor of CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Mr J C Katyal was also present at the meeting with the Governor. After the meeting, the delegation left for Hisar on a two-day visit to the agricultural university and to the villages to study the impact of technology on farming.
