Bhatt to make film on darker side of cricket
Chandigarh, Jun 4 (UNI) Celebrated film maker Mahesh Bhatt is planning to produce a film on the darker side of cricket in the wake of the death of Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer.
''We are planning a film on the darker side of cricket...the big bad world of cricket betting. A foreign coach is murdered in the film,'' he said while talking to reporters here.
Bhatt was in town in connection with the inauguration of the Chandigarh Acting Institute scheduled for tomorrow. The Institute would be run by Anupam Kher in collaboration with the Chandigarh administration.
To a question, Bhatt however said he would not resume the director's role again. ''That page has turned. Everything has age, everything withers. Filmmakers also have a timeframe in which they perform their best.'' Asked about his future plans, he said, ''I will continue to nurture new talent.'' Talking about the quality of cinema in the country, Bhatt said Indian cinema had touched the rockbottom. To impress the Western world, the Indian film makers were losing touch with Indian reality.
''We can't impress the world unless we are connected with Indianness,'' he said.
