A woman tries to immolate herself in CMs janata darbar

Patna, Jun 4 (UNI) To escape torture from her husband for failing to get dowry, Reshma Kumari today made an abortive attemt to immolate herself before Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's janata darbar in Patna.

Reshma poured kerosene on her body intending to put fire on her cloth before Mr Kumar. But she was overpowered by the security personnel there.

Then she told her tale of trauma and torture in the in-laws house for failing to get dowry.

The chief minister directed the Director General of police to immediately arrest the culprits residing at Sasaram of Rohtas district and assured Reshma for stern action against her-in-laws.
