80-year-old man seeks divorce

Kanpur, June 4 (UNI) In a bizarre incident, an 80-year-old man has filed for divorce in a city court.

Budeshwar Shukla of Saketnagar was married to Rani Devi in 1954.

Rani Devi (70) had alleged that her husband is an alcoholic and regularly beats her under the inflvence.

Mr Shukla, though admitted to his drinking habit, but denied he harassed or misbehaved with his wife.

Efforts were made to convince the aged couple to drop the idea of separation, but the elderly couple was adamant.

Next hearing of their case is on August 3.
