6 policemen suspended for dereliction of duty
Agra, June 4 (UNI) Six police personnel were suspended for dereliction of duty over a Dalit's harrasment by lawyers on the premises of a city court here.
Senior Superintendent of Police Hari Ram Sharma today said Schedule Castes Commission member Satya Bahin and Mrityunjay Kumar had asked the administration to take stringent action against the culprits.
Recently, civil court lawyers allegedly assaulted a Dalit youth, after tying him with a tree on the civil court premises.
Mr Sharma said an investigation was conducted after the recommendation of the Commission.
Six policemen, including the in charge of the Civil court police station were suspended last night in this regard.
