320 integrated hostels to come up in AP: CM

Hyderabad, June 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said 320 integrated hostels would be set up in the state to accommodate 400 students each who were below the poverty line belonging to all castes and religions.

Addressing a meeting of the Deputy Directors of Social Welfare and the Executive Directors of the District SC Societies at the Dr Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute here, Dr Reddy said 120 hostels were accorded sanction and added that the rest would approved soon.

He expressed hope that the integrated hostels would develop a spirit of togetherness among the children and help them grow without discrimination on the basis of caste and religion.

Earlier, the Chief Minister launched the SC Action Plan for 2007 and released a film on eradication of untouchability.
