3 killed in LPG cylinder blast
Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, Jun 4 (UNI) Three people were killed and five sustained burns when two LPG cylinders exploded in a fire at a thatched roadside tea-shop at Samipuram Colony in this town today.
According to police, two of the eight cylinders stacked in the shop exploded in an accidental fire.
The victims had attempted to douse the fire and prevent it from spreading to other places, police added.
Two of the deceased, S Selvaraj (19) and J Periasamy (23), died on the spot while the other, Govindaraj (47), a constable, succumbed to burns at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai, where he was shifted for further treatment.
