2 killed as bus hits culvert

Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, Jun 4 (UNI) Two people were killed on the spot and 14 hurt when the town bus in which they were travelling hit a culvert and overturned at Neelamangalam Village today.

Police said the bus was proceeding from Kallakkurichi to Neelamangalam, a distance of 15 km, when the mishap occurred.

Marudhai (45) and Manivel (40) died on the spot while Dhandapani (40) was seriously hurt. Nine women were among those injured.

The injured were taken to the Kallakkurichi Government Hospital for treatment.
