Sahib Singh compliments Badal on Sacha Sauda issue

Amritsar, June 3 (UNI) Complimenting Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for his handling of the delicate Dera Sacha Sauda issue, BJP Vice President Sahib Singh Verma today said that the issue was handled in a ''very mature manner.'' ''The SAD-BJP government did not allow the situation to get out of hand and dealt it with firmness'', he said while talking to mediapersons here.

Mr Verma who recently replaced Arun Jaitley as party incharge of Punjab affairs, said that laxity on the part of the Punjab government in the Sacha Sauda issue could have shattered the peace of the border state. He lamented that certain political parties had indulged in unnecessary criticism of the Chief Minister.

Asked about the Deputy Chief Minister's demand being made by the state BJP, Mr Verma claimed that there was no such demand. ''The SAD-BJP alliance is doing an excellent job and if there is any demand ever for the Deputy CM's post, it will be sorted out by the two alliance partners'', he added.
