Rainfall at many places over coastal areas
Bangalore, June 3 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hrs here today.
Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka Raichur recorded heavy rainfall of 7 cms.
Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Karwar 5; Chittapur 2; Mulki, Ankola. Mangalore AP, Honavar, Pavgada 1 each.
Maximum temperatures changed little over Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably above normal at most places over South Interior Karnataka and above normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Gulbarga recorded highest maximum temperature of 40.8 degree Celsius over the State.
Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin:: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada districts and at isolated places over Dharwad, Belgaum, Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore Urban, Kolar, Tumkur districts and mainly dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of the State.
Fishermen Warning for Karnataka Coast: Strong onshore winds mainly from southwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.
Local forecast: Partly cloudy. Thundery conditions possible towards evening/night. Maximum temperature would be around 34 deg.
