M'shtra: Indebted farmer commits suicide

Kolhapur, June 3: A debt-ridden young farmer allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well in village Danolee in Shirol tehsil of this district.

The deceased was identified as Dhanaji Keshav Kadam (33). His body was found floating in water yesterday after he left his house on Friday evening, police said today.

Kadam had taken Rs 1.25 lakh as loan from Kurundwad Urban Bank in 1999. Frustrated over his inability to repay the loan amount, he took the drastic step, they added.
